Privacy notice
What we collect, why we use it and the choices you have when you visit this website or contact Stratsor.
Last updated: 10 August 2026
In brief: this public website has no account, checkout, contact form or analytics. We receive personal information if you choose to email us, and our hosting provider may create short-lived technical security logs.
1. Who we are
Stratsor Ltd is the controller of personal information described in this notice. That means we decide why and how it is used.
Legal name: STRATSOR LTD
Company number: SC784694 (registered in Scotland)
Registered office: 10 North Beach Road, Balmedie, Aberdeen, Scotland, AB23 8XG
Email: stuart.ellison@stratsor.com
2. Information we collect
When you email us
We may receive your name, email address, organisation, the contents of your message and attachments, and routine email metadata. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary.
Routine website logs
Like most websites, the hosting service may temporarily record an IP address, time of request, requested page, response status, browser or device information and referring page. These records are used to deliver and protect the site, diagnose faults and investigate abuse.
What this website does not collect
There is no public account, newsletter, on-site checkout or contact form. We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, embedded social media tools or cross-site tracking. See our cookie notice for more detail.
3. How and why we use information
| Information | Purpose and lawful basis | Normal retention |
|---|---|---|
| Business and product enquiries | To read, route and respond to your message, take requested pre-contract steps and maintain relevant correspondence. We rely on legitimate interests and, where applicable, steps requested before a contract. | Up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact, unless a contract, legal claim or longer legal duty applies. |
| Customer, order or accounting records | To perform a contract and meet tax, accounting, product-safety and other legal duties. | Normally six years, or longer where a specific legal duty or claim requires it. |
| Data-protection complaints | To acknowledge, investigate, communicate about and decide a complaint. We rely on legal obligation and legitimate interests in resolving concerns and demonstrating compliance. | Normally three years after closure, or longer where a legal claim or regulatory matter requires it. |
| Technical security logs | To deliver the site, prevent misuse, investigate faults and keep the service secure. We rely on legitimate interests. | Up to 30 days in ordinary operation; relevant records may be kept longer for an active security incident or legal claim. |
Our legitimate interests are operating and protecting a proportionate business website, responding to people who contact us, resolving complaints and keeping appropriate business records. We consider the effect on individuals before relying on those interests.
You are not legally required to email us. We need enough contact and enquiry information to respond or to take a step you request before a contract; without it, we may be unable to help. We do not use information from this website for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you the right to:
- ask for access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask for erasure or restriction of use;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent where consent is the basis used.
These rights are not absolute. We may need enough information to confirm your identity and understand the request. We normally respond within one month. There is usually no charge.
Children
This is a general business and retail-information website, not a service directed at children. Please contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian.
6. Data-protection complaints process
If you believe Stratsor has not followed data-protection law, you can make a complaint by emailing stuart.ellison@stratsor.com with the subject “Data protection complaint”, or by writing to our registered office. There is no charge. If email or post is not accessible to you, ask us for a reasonable alternative.
Please describe what happened, the personal information involved, relevant dates and the outcome you are seeking. Do not send more personal information than the complaint requires.
We will:
- acknowledge the complaint within 30 days of receiving it;
- without undue delay, take appropriate steps to investigate it;
- keep you informed about progress where the investigation is ongoing; and
- tell you the outcome and the reasons for it when the investigation is complete.
If the same message includes a data-protection rights request, we will also handle that request under its applicable legal timescale. We keep an appropriate record of the complaint and our response.
You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data-protection regulator. The ICO may ask whether you first gave us an opportunity to address your concern.
7. Contact and changes
For a privacy question or rights request, email stuart.ellison@stratsor.com or write to the registered office shown above.
We may update this notice when our website, providers or legal duties change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted here.
